MHS students collect 867 phonebooks for recycling program

Mildred Hall School students and their families collected 867 old phonebooks as part of the 2019 Northwestel Directory Recycling Program over the past few weeks. That’s the highest total per capita among all schools in the Northwest Territories this year! For their efforts, students were presented with the Emerald Award from Northwestel, a prize that comes with $750 which can be spent on school-wide environmentally-friendly initiatives. Congratulations to everyone who participated! Thanks to you, almost 900 old phonebooks will be recycled instead of going to the landfill.
